Annual Report 2015-16

In our department, with Assistant Professor Santosh J. Uke as a faculty, Dr D. R Bambole is working as head of the department. For the overall development of the students our department yearly organized various activities such as seminar competition, quiz competition, collection and display the information on scientific events, mini project based on scientific experiment, mini project based on research.

Also to motivate the student to participate in different college as well as inter-college it activities such as inter-college seminar competition, inter-college quiz competition and inter-college science exhibition. This year, the result of BSc. 3rd year is 100%, while BSc. 1st year and BSc. 2nd year is 60%. This year, student from BSc. IInd Mr. Dipak Bhopat and Mr. Sumit Jawanjal have participated and presented a poster on “Basic Ideas of Energy Storage in Supercapacitor” in inter college science research competition “Aavishkar” organized by S. G. B. Amravati University, Amravati. This year an educational tour was organized on date 21/02/2016 at Rashtra Sant Tukdoji Maharaj University, Nagpur, and National environmental Engineering research Institute (NEERI), Nagpur.

During this tour, our students were visited to the department of physics of Rashtra Sant Tukdoji Maharaj University Nagpur, Raman Science Centre Nagpur. During the visit in Raman Science Centre various astronomical posters and live events on 3D screen, planetarium scientific demonstrations, and scientific experiments have been seen by the student. To strengthen the departmental library, this year students of B.Sc. IIIrd year donated two textbooks and two journals into department library.

This year, on date 06/ 04/ 2016, our department has organized a guest lecture of Dr G. R. Dhokane, Sipna Science College Chikhaldara on topic “E-waste management”. To gain the recent updates and advances in science and technology, the teaching faculty of our department has been actively participating in seminars, conferences and workshops organized state and national level teaching and research institutes. On date 28-30 January 2016 Mr. Santosh J. Uke was attended an international conference at Shivaji University Kolhapur.

On date 28 Feb 2016 Dr. Bombole and Asst. Prof. Uke have presented a poster in national conference organized by J. B. Science College Wardha. In this conference we got the consolation prize for the best poster presentation. From, 2014-15, our department is running two manor research project funded by UGC New Delhi.

This year we have submitted the proposal for National Conference on recent trends in nanotechnology to UGC New Delhi and DST for approval. Dr. D. R. Bambole H.O.D. Annual Report 2016-17 In this year the department organized various activities related to students overall development. As a best practice our development developed a departmental library, in this year we added the number of textbooks, journals, study materials and reference books which are donated by the departmental students.

Dr. D. R. Bambole, worked as Vice- Chancellor nominee recommended by Hon’ble V.C. Nominee for appointment of assistant Professor as per the direction No. 20/12/2016 at G. S. Tompe Commerce and Science College, Chandure Railway. Dr D. R. Bombay attended workshop on reconstruction of B.Sc. syllabus held at Vidya Bharti Mahavidyalaya Amravati on 22/01/2017, Also, Dr. D. R. Bombole attended one day conference on Indian Science Congress on “Development of future technology” at Srimathi Vimala Tai Deshmukh Hall Amravati. • Worked as preceding officer for “Z. P. Panchayat Samiti Election” on 21 02 2017 This year department “Vidyut Suraksha Saptah” during 11 to 17 January 2017 in collaboration with maharashtra state electricity distribution company limited.

In this event, Mr. N. U. Raut and Mr. V. S. Lakade Dy. Engineer, MSEDCL, Daryapur was present as chief guest, and Dr. R. Bhise was present as Precedent for the programme. This year department organized quiz competition for B.Sc. Ist (SEM – II) year students. In this activity, the 35 students of This class have participated. Ku. Pallavi S. Sahare, Mr. Nivruttin Nanndurkar and Mr. Rohit Sardar got first, second and third rank, respectively. This year our department organized “Slogan Writing Competition” for B.Sc. IInd (SEM – IV) on energy conservation, in this activity total 24 students of B.Sc. II were participated. Ku. Achal G. Farkunde, Ku. Nikitia Khandare and Mr. Gaurav Tiwalkar, received first, second and third rank respectively. To improve the writing skill of the departmental students, in this year our department organized “Easy Writing Completion” for B.Sc. IIIrd year students. In this activity total 18 students have participated. Ku. Kalyani Kulat and Mr. Ankush Palspagar, Mr. Dipak Bhopat received first, second and third rank respectively. Tow students of department have participated in “Competition on Presentation and Demonstration of Physics Experiments” organized by Shri Shivaji Science College, Amravati in collaboration with Amravati University Physics, Teacher Association. Amravati. On date 17 April 2017 department organized one day workshop on awareness of basic components and instruments in physics for the students of high school and junior Science College in daryapur region.

In this program, the information on electronic components and its various application were discussed. In addition, the knowledge regarding the loose electronic component was shared with the students. The total 56 students of three junior collages of Daryapur, namely Parbodhan Juniour College, Daryapur, Adharsh Juniour College, Daryapur and Najma Patel High School, Daryapur were participated. For the successful organization of the above progamme in department, under the guidance of Principal Dr. R. M. Bhse, Assistant Professor S. J. Uke and Dr. D. R. Bambole have actively engaged through year.

Annual Report 2016-17

To overcome the employment problem, the department of physics continuously encourages to students about the participation in campus placement cell organizes by various institutes. In this reference, 35 students of the science faculty were appeared for interview in the campus placement organized by Shri. Shivaji College, Akola and Sarswati Engineering College, Shegaon. In this placement four students of the department were selected as a project officer in CRONING Technologies Private Limited, Pune on 20th Feb 2018. The department of Physics celebrated “Teachers Day” on 5th Sep. 2018. On the eve of this day department organized an event of “Self governance”. Under this activity five student of the department were participated in seminar activity. 1) Mr. U. G. Shriwash –Special theory of relativity 2) Ku. Neha Bramhankar-RAMAN Effect 3) Mr. N. V. III (Math) declared as best teacher. • On 7th Sep 2018, five students of the department attended a National seminar organized by R. L. T. College Akola,

On 7th Sep 2018, Dr. D. S. Thakre attended the National seminar at R. L. T. College Akola on Art of Perfumes and soap making on. To exchange the knowledge between the students of other colleges, and interaction among the students our department organized the video conferencing between Shri. Shivaji College, Akot and J. D. Patil Sangludkar College, Daryapur on 22th Sep 2018.

Prof. S. J. Uke has submitted two research papers in International journals of American Scientific publisher, America. Now, both these papers is accepted by this journal for publication. Recently, Prof S. J. Uke submitted his Ph.D. thesis to S.G.B. Amravati University, Amravati. He is going to face viva and open defense on 20th Oct 2018. Dr. D. S. Thakre HOD. In this year, the department of physics is submitted: Energy Audit of the College, to the Principal.

In this energy audit of the college, we have compared the MSEB electric bills of the college with our calculated energy consumption. Also, in the same audit our department has suggested the remedies to reduce the electrical energy consumption. To motivate the department students and to increase their participation in the extracurricular activities on 26 Jan. 2019 our department felicitate Ku. Achal D. Wankar B.Sc. II for her consolation prize in the “Presentation and Demonstration of Experiment”, organized by Department of Physics, Shri Shivaji Science College, Amarvati. As the extracurricular activity of the department, on date 09/12/2018 Dr. D. S. Thakre has conducted the “Yuva Bhushan Completion” organized by Shri. Shiavaji Education Society, Amravati and Yuvak Biradari, Pune, in this event we have invited the application from every department of Arts, Science and commerce faculties our college.

To strengthen the research potential and increase the external participation of researcher as a students, In this year the department has submitted the proposal of “Physics Research Lab Reorganization” to the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati. In this year Our Department has organized excursion tour for BSc. IIIrd year students during 31 January to 1 February 2019 at Raman Science Centre, Nagpur and Pench Tiger Reserve, Nagpur.

In this tour total 26 students and two teachers of the department have participated. In collaboration with Bharat Yuvark Biradari and under the guidance of our Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati’s office on date 9 Jan 2019 we have arrange the a competitive examination for college students. In this year our two students Mr. Rushikesh S. Barabde and Mr. Roshan S. Bawner has participated in the national level Competition and tow day workshop on Synthesis of Nanomaterials organized by Shri Shivaji Science College, Amravati in association with IIT Khargpur during 17th and 18th Feb 2019. On date 23/ 02/ 2019 two students of B,Sc IInd year Mr. Swapnil Bharat Athawale and Mr. Arushesh Dinesh Shiigne have me participated in on day workshop on “Astronomy and Astrophysic” held at Go. Si. Gawande Mahavidyalaya Umarkhed.

This workshop was organized by this college under the Initiative by students of IUCAA Pune, Maharashtra. This year our department has organized guest lecturers of on eminent professors from various university and colleges. On date 03 December 2018, Asst. Prof. Umar T. Bhati, Shri shivaji science College, Akot delivered guest lecture on topic ‘Theories of Relativity’. Dr. D. T. Dongre Vidhyabarati College, Kanranja Lad has deliverd guest lecture on topic “LASER”. On date 18/04/2018 Dr. Sandip W. Waghuley has delivered a guest lecture on topic of “ Patent filling on research findings”.

This year our department hosted the science day 28 February. On this eve, we have arranged different competition such as science film making competition, poster presentation competition, seminar competition etc. On this same occasion, we invite Mr. Vijay Girulkar to deliver lecture on topic “Our Solar System”. This year Dr. D. S. Thakre has attended International Conference on Energy and Environment organized by, Deaprtment of Chemical Engineering, BRACT's Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (V.I.T), Pune, during 4 -5 January 2019.

Also he has delivered invited talk in 6th Shivaji Vidhnyan Parishad 2018 held at Shivaji College, Akot, which was jointly organized by Homi Bhabha Science Centre, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (T.I.F.R.), Mumbai and Shivaji Education Society, Amravati during 24-26th December 2018. I addition to this, he has applied for “Summer Research Fellowship 2019” to Academy of Indian Sciences, Bangalore, Indian National Science Academy (New Delhi) and The National academy of sciences, India.

In addition to this, for strengthen research activity in the department he has the Dr. Santosh J. Title of Paper: “Tri-ethanolamine-ethoxylate assisted hydrothermal synthesis of nanostructured MnCo2O4 with superior electrochemical performance for high energy density supercapacitor application” in 12th International Symposium on Advances in Electrochemical Science and Technology at Chennai which was jointly organized by SAEST, Chennai and CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CSIR-CECRI) Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, India, during 7-10 January 2019. 3.
